June 2019
In June 2019 the GIANT Campus in partnership with the Folkestone Town Team, delivered two free Digital Marketing workshops aimed at the independent businesses in Folkestone Town Centre, High Street and Creative Quarter to help them bridge the gap in how they use digital marketing to support their high street presence.
The workshops were well attended and delivered tangible benefits to the businesses that attended. Businesses were shown the tools and priorities to effect immediate change to their activity, resulting in immediate growth for their businesses both online and in the real world.
Giant Campus would really like to continue helping local independent businesses to learn and thrive. Please contact us via email on folkestonetownteam@hotmail.com to let us know of any struggles or queries you might have in your business. We are sure you won't be the only ones so it would be great to be aware of how we might be able to help in the future.

Folkestone pop up shop
This project was previously run in 2015 successfully positioned in Guildhall Street.
The purpose of setting up a pop-up shop in the town is to provide a space for anyone currently running a business from home who wants to test their business in a retail environment without long term contracts and big financial commitments.
Folkestone Town Team are currently on the look out for a new space, ideally located anywhere on Sandgate Road to set up another pop-up shop. The team leading this project have a list of people interested in taking up spaces when a location is found.
Can you help us with a property? Are you the landlord of an empty premises? Project lead Ray Johnson would be happy to hear from anyone that may be interested in helping with this.

Empty Shop Windows
The members of Folkestone Town Team have initiated a project to try and fill the windows of empty shops in the town with bright designs providing tourist information and highlighting other parts of the town to encourage visitors to stay longer and visit more of Folkestone. This could be a vinyl or even a digital screen.
The aim of this work was to help empty properties look more appealing to businesses wanting to locate in the town and for the town to look busy and vibrant. It is felt that Folkestone has a number of amazing places including the Lower Leas Coastal Park, the Warren, the Old High Street and the Leas just to name a few and a vinyl on an empty property will be able to point visitors in the direction of these attractions.
We are also looking into an idea of putting a digital screen and displaying videos of these destinations.
We have a local designer on stand by who is happy to put the artwork together and local businesses wanting to sponsor the artworks, we just need landlords who are happy for displays to be put up.
Can you help us with a property? Are you the landlord of an empty premises? Are you willing to sponsor £500 towards the project? Project lead Kris Foster would be happy to hear from anyone that may be interested in helping with these initiative.
